The Indian government is taking efforts to make sure that the demonetization does not impact farmers adversely. Government is requesting farmers to join the cashless movement.
About 50 farmers have done their first cashless, digital transaction at the specially organized event and bought seeds and fertilizers. Union ministers were present during the occasion.
PM Modi also has invited people to go for cashless transactions through is monthly radio talk, ‘Maan Ki Baat’. The Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) has commenced an initiative to aware farmers of the advantages of cashless transactions.
Recently, the Indian government had asked banks to meet cash requirements of the farmers during the ongoing planting season. Farmers are allowed to use old 500 Rs. notes for purchasing seeds from any state or central government stores and agricultural universities.
